MORE! More games, more content, more services, more more more. Sony's in a positition where they can distribute games online and via blu ray. In times of the year where there is no blu ray releases, then their needs to be downloadable games, and movies. Plus make sure that the PS3's linux capabilities aren't lost in the shuffle. Yes I do agree that the editorial is a bit on the simplistic side as mentioned above, but I was trying to keep it to a reasonable length. Hope you continue to enjoy my future editorials. I sometimes look at my 3 and wonder if it was money well spent. Now, however, is not then. The biggest difference as I see it is that now we have compnaies making games that own movie and music companies, as well as other computer hardware/software. Hard to tell who gets the bump (Micro or Sony) but it's something to consider. As for the Wei, I know people who have one that are bored with it already. I'm guessing it was this holiday's Elmo. I am a Sony fan but i have to admit that Microsoft offer a dam good package with the 360. they have a huge price advantage and their network facilities are top-notch, then with the Wii's ingenuity - Sony have a tough year ahead. this will be fun to watch; dam it's a good time in history to be a gamer! firstly, Love the article.

Good thing you're a PR person, and not a marketing person! =) We can't forget to take into account the populations and video game influence in these respective areas. It's not just a matter of Europe waiting a bit longer to jump into new technologies; Europe buys fewer consoles and games because there are fewer gamers, period. And the US is now the major market for game systems as sales for consoles and games in North America exceeds those in Japan. (That's not to say that Sony can't expect PS3's to sell as well or better in Japan than the US--it is stronger against Microsoft in Japan--but it should be the goal of Sony to sell more systems in the US as North America is a much bigger market.) “300,000 Japan

And Wii has shipped double the volume of PS3 world wide. I would consider Wii as a much higher alerted opponent for PS3 then Xbox360. Conside Wii has double the sale of PS3 in Japan.
