according to the bbc news site, sony gave away over 100 46″ tv’s to the first people in the queue at the london launch. i know which i’d prefer.

it’s not loading overly quickly at the moment (or possibly at all) but all it allows ytou to do is pre-register your desired nick/handle on the site. the only way to get a free copy of CR on BR is by buying a PS3, getting it online and registering the console on the playstation network.

i just did mine, took about an hour all told, given the firmware upgraded needed before i could log in. there was a brief mention of “the blu-ray offer” when it was finished but it didn’t mention CR specifically, or that anything would be sent out to me. I’ll have to assume that as i put in my address details and everything when signing up, that they’ll just send it to me, but who can say for sure.

Seeing as the copy of casino royale will be encoded in 1080p will it work on a 720p/1080i tv ? please could someone tell me this so i can know if theres a point to registering

Can people stop!!!

If you leave registering you’re PS3 until the Saturday you’ll still get a copy. Not everyone will want one. I can see Sony just about selling 500,000 PS3’s on Day one, how many of these will be put straight on Ebay with out ever coming out of the box?

And can the Aussies stop moaning because Sony aren’t giving you something for free, you acting like a bunch of spoilt brats.

This was the kind of movie Sony needed to launch with in the US. Taladega Nights was funny and all, but we needed something with some bang. Glad to see Sony making a better choice for the EU launch.
