Here it is:
“Downscaled output of Blu-ray Discs is now supported. When 720p is selected as the video output setting of the PS3â„¢ system, Blu-ray Discs that were recorded in 1080p or 1080i resolution can be played in 720p resolution.” Needless to say I was very happy to see this, as I have been waiting patiently for it (I have a 720P LCD HDTV and was forced to use 1080i or down to 480P before.) Now that they have scaling working partially, they’ll fix the 720P to 1080i issue…

I don’t know if this was in version 1.80 or a later version, but I noticed that it’s scaling 1080p to 720p now.

Pretty much agree with all the other comments about upscaling, its pretty annoying really!!!!!!
