With the DJ idea you could have a paypal link setup with that perforance so DJ’s and artists have incentives to perform virtually. Instead of being restricted to one physical location they could potentially and simultaneously reach millions of PS3 owners while making MORE money at possibly charging a cheaper price.

With art, websites like deviant art could use home as an outlet to sell virtual art to residents.
Art could be definately tied into games for avatar customization. Restuaraunts could advertize in game and offer discounts and coupons. want a pizza while youre playing heavenly sword or watching a high definition movie in your virtual pad, why not have it so you can order from home and they deliver to you with the discount!

PS3 home could expand on the MMOG market. Guilds could have guild HOMES within home. Hell if sony was smart theyd work with areanet to get a piece of GUILD WARS 2. if that was a ps3 exclusive it would be insane. Think about it, their online philosphy is the same “free play”, like i mentioned before “guild homes”. A guild home could have a virtual library which would act as a message board of guild forum which would be more interactive and fun to hang out in instead of your traditional text and 2d graphics based forums.

I could go on for days about ideas that i have , I could possibly piss myself thinking about them. ^_^

Oh no, another idea has to be shared. Personal spaces that made for public consumption. Say a room, that a PS3 owning DJ/producer opens to everyone who’s interested, where his choons play, and video effects and photos are shown. I as a fan of his, might venture into his public space, and leave my avatar there, while a real live party at my house is entertained by his music and videos. Oh I dunno, it’s all a little fluffy…

Anyway, I can see potential, but… it’ll take a lot to make it useful.

It’ll be a far cry from walking 2 miles to the cinema to watch a movie trailer then go to the virtual B&Q to buy some paint for your virtual house. I liked someone else comment baout Home going one step further and having a virtual internet to save us having to walk to the shops. Seems familliar…

I suppose you’re right, they are all on facebook and all that.
I just feel that Home is going to be a big marketing scam with all sponsors and adverts everywhere to brainwash suggestive people into buying unnecessary things.

I think Home is aimed at the online messaging / social networking crowd - generally younger kids that love spending their days on MSN talking about pointless stuff!
