After this update I can’t play any disks at all - tried PS3 games, PS2 games and DVD’s. After inserting a disc into the PS3 the disc inserted icon appears in the top right part of the screen but I don’t get a disc icon in the Game column.

All downloaded games work ok.

Anyone else had this ?

My ps3 won’t play blu rays properly since this update. I keep getting disc read errors or it freezes up the system. PS1/PS2/DVD discs all work no problem but I can’t play any PS3 games or blu ray movies. It was working perfectly until this update. Is there any news of a patch to fix it or am I going to have to send my console off to sony?

I use AVIAddXSubs to add subtitles. Easy to use and actually works. No installation required or any extra software. I still hope they add external subtitle files some day.

I have had minor crashes in online games since the previous update, and have had one since this update; however nothing major. Web browser is a touch faster, but still rubbish. Faster rubbish isn’t any more appealing than slow rubbish. Yep, I’d also like to be able to play on the BBC iPlayer too.

AVI-Mux GUI isn’t working. It just muxes the SRT with the AVI.
DivX seems to use the XSUB format wich is a additional stream with bitmaps. You can use DivXMuxGUI for example…

The AVI-Mux generated AVI’s are working with MPC, but not on the PS3. The XSUB’s arent working in MPC, though.

I’m thinking about combining both so you have a AVI with SRT and XSUB streams. Need to play around and test the files on the PS3 and with MPC.

My web browser no longer works after downloading this update. It freezes randomly & can’t be closed with the circle button. When trying to close it through the popup menu, the whole console freezes & has to be reset. I hope this can be sorted fairly easily, as the rest of the update is a nice bonus (even if it’s not in-game XMB).
