To ascertain the reason why PSP UMD sales are not matching PSP hardware sales try “Googling” for “Dark_AleX” or “Team M33″.

I find it strange that people can moan about an optional new service!
Firstly more people have a PSP then a PS3 so it makes more commercial sense to have the service on that device. Also hardware sales don’t really match software sales so it seems likely that a lot of PSP owners use it for media rather then gaming.
The PS3 will have PlayTV in July so freeview will be available for that with transfer to the PSP. Adding Sky programs will then give you access to all TV for the PSP. I do use the train it’s amazing how many people have a PSP.
Some people don’t want to commit criminal offences by illegally downloading copyrighted material.

Looks like everyone agrees with me that it should’ve been done for the PS3 instead. Something for you to take back to Sony and tell them that they should’ve spent the development time/effort into improving PSN Europe instead.

Yeah, this is a bit lame, and really don’t know how many people will take up the service, but I see is as a marketing thing. It’ll cost next to nothing to anyone but the punter in question.

If you’re the sort of person who has a PSP, and are going to be using it for more than gaming, then you’re most likely going to be at least a little switched on. Thus, you’re going to already have a method of supplying yourself with these favourite programmes.

But hey ho.

i don’ t use the pay-per-view movies etc. using my virgin box on my biiig tv at home so i doubt very much i’ll ever use this, especially seeing as we have to download to a pc first! whoever thought that would work needs to be sacked.

the only thing that matters now is that Amazon have Dispatched GTA IV for me today tomorrow at work is gonna feel damn long.
