In contrast it is not as if Infogrames Entertainment's new Directeur Général Délégué has made a mark in the last few months either. The success or failure of any large organisation is never down to one person anyway. On 15 April 2008 we have had a revamp of the PlayStation Store, and as of today we have "DUALSHOCK 3" wireless controllers, and firmware revision 2.40 in Europe (with lots of new functionality; a majority of which has been submitted in comments made to Sony in the past). You can, of course, submit UK/Europe-based comments on the US Blog if you wish, but on 11 June it was reported that "...we’re speaking with our counterparts in Europe to bring more PlayStation news to you from that part of the world. We know you’re reading us from across the Atlantic, and we haven’t forgotten about you". [ http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/06/11/playstationblog-is-a-year-old-today/ ] I do not understand your comment about being "burnt so many times already". Where has SCEE or the PlayStation 3 brand let you down? What promises have been made to you that you do not feel have been fulfilled? BFN, fp. This measle blog seems to shrink by the minute, back in the days I saw hundreds of responses, these days there's a big announcement and only few dozen answers saying "cool" or "great!". I know the answer for this: people get tired of writing and waiting for answers when they've been burnt so many times already; they know it doesn't mean a thing if they give constructive criticism because it won't be seen by those who make the decisions. After Phil's departure SCEE has gone worse every month and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. In my humble opinion SCEE should understand that fans of Playstation brand on this continent don't like being treated as second class citizens year after year. Labelling people & thinking you've 'won' a point in a discussion seems to be catching) I didn't buy the "any old crap" called "Metal Gear Solid 4" or "Grand Theft Auto 4", and probably never will. I'll wait to see what "Home" can offer me before I decide whether to use this product. If it is delayed to make the experience better, then that's a good thing. If it is delayed indefinitely, I frankly couldn't care less. I will not ever play "WipEout HD", so if that is released next month, next year, or never, is fine by me. I cannot be bothered playing any more of "Gran Turismo 5: Prologue" as I find the game-play boring. I imported a "DualShock 3" controller in December, but didn't like the weight of it, so rarely use it. I am not a "Yay" consumer. If something does not suit me, I don't buy it. That's the point of a diverse portfolio of titles; something for everyone. I'm glad some people find enjoyment from titles I do not. Profits made in one area help the brand develop in other areas (that I may be interested in). My European release day console was money well spent & has given me & my family many, many hours of enjoyment. The PlayStation Store & the PlayStation Network are made available for free. If one week the content on the 'Store is not for me, I will look at the Japanese & US 'Stores, and may find something there. However, if there is nothing in any region, then that's OK with me. There any far too many game titles already available that I either own, or would like to own, and I do not have enough time to play anyway. Don't assume everybody except a few accept everything Sony offers to the marketplace. It's just the rest of us don't see this as a direct attack on our freedom of choice & we do not take the reports of delayed or cancelled title personally. If you feel you & Ton do have valid reasons to complain, may I suggest that submitting such 'hints' to somebody at Sony's Customer Service team may be a more suitable starting point rather than commenting on blog site articles that may never be seen by Sony representatives at all. Perhaps if you offer constructive criticism with regards the type of games you wish to play rather than resorting to name-calling then you may find people are more inclined to help you. All in all I conclude Hirai is living in some sort of bizzaro opposite world in which the PS3 is excelling rather than the stark reality which is that it is floundering like a fish on dry land. I have had enough, I really have. If 2008 ends with the same whimper 2007 did then (most of you will welcome this!) you will have seen the last of me.
