“Tekken 6″ is not being developed by Project Soul, but by a different team at Namco but, yes, there will be some overlap I’m sure.

“Soul Calibur IV” was developed by Project Soul (an internal development group at Namco) & published by Namco Bandai/Ubisoft.

Polyphony Digital (an internal development group at Sony Computer Entertainment, Incorporated) are developing “Gran Turismo 5″. The publisher will be Sony Computer Entertainment.

Tekken 6 is the next installment in Namco Bandai’s popular 3D fighting series, coming exclusively to the PS3. While Tekken 6 was a no show at E3, in a recent interview with GameEX Magazine, Haruki Suzaki revealed that the game is currently scheduled for Dec. 2008, and when asked if it was still a PS3 exclusive, Suzaki replied “No, It hasn’t been determined yet as of the moment.”

Funny tale that one of yours. I also stalled, convinced myself I didn’t need one then spotted they were in the shops whilst heading back from a music festival & promptly purchased one as soon as I got off the train at home!

I’ve played Ico (hired it) and got stuck but didn’t persist & returned it to the shop as I had plenty of other titles at the time to spend time on. However, Shadow of the Collussus was superb & has prompted me to revisit Ico. Subsistence is supposed to be nice, but really just an “enhanced version” of Snake Eater & thus I’m dithering over whether to spend money on it or not. I guess I could just dig the PS2 out of hibernation!

I’ve also been happily returning to Okami & God Of War 2, so I think I’m going to start keeping an eye on PS2 titles again…

I went and brought Race Driver: Grid, and from the off, the races were exciting, seat of thepants stuff. The cars and tracks look good and the feature where you can correct your mistakes is very innovative.

All round a great game to counter a very disappointing GT:5P

Then @23 Dave responds (following moderation) with two very good points that I am glad it is not just me who thinks this (as I was beginning to believe I was the only one)…

“1) WE DON’T GIVE A FLYING **** ABOUT GT:TV!!!

2) PROLOGUE IS TOO SLOW. It feels like you’re driving a Ferrari at about 30mph.”

Have you tried “Race Driver: GRID”? Much faster… (and not out is the US yet)! Or “Burnout Paradise”. Again, the fast-paced challenges online with four or five other human drivers interacting with all the artificial intelligence-based vehicles in the environment is making “Gran Turismo 5 Prologue” look embarrassing in terms of speed.

Alternatively, given the full version of “Gran Turismo 5″ is more than a year away, watching paint dry is faster.

I have not played either of the titles you mentioned, but they are highly regarded by critics so you could do worse than not buying them!

Don’t feel bad about having a ‘down’ day yourself. I convinced myself I didn’t need a PS3 prior to release day, and didn’t rush out to buy one, but was persuaded otherwise. It sat unopened in the original packaging for over two hours when I got back home. How stupid I feel now… That’s two hours of gaming time I’ll never get back!

I like to think I am enthusiastic about cars (but not formula series racing), but the thought of waiting 12 months or more for the inclusion of the “GT-TV” facility is not worth the wait, even if I did find “Gran Turismo 5 Prologue” an enjoyable experience.

Your points are valid & well presented - I’m a little ashamed now of my previous churlish boohoo post about getting rid of the PS3!

I just need to get on with it and track down Ico & maybe even bite the bullet and just buy Subsistence - having held out thus far waiting for Snake Eater compatibility!
