Lost Planet features an impressive online mode and Capcom are looking to create a successful online community for the PS3 with Lost Planet.

Japanese PS3 owners are able to try out the game before its release on February 21, thanks to a multiplayer enabled demo that’s out now on PSN. The game launches over here on February 29, so hopefully a UK demo shouldn’t be too far away.

Fans of THQ’s sci-fi series Red Faction will be pleased to hear that the development of Red Faction III has been confirmed, and is scheduled for release on PlayStation 3 before March 2009. The news comes from a THQ conference call in which company CEO Brian Farrell confirmed its existence/development, citing the use of the latest hardware to give gamers “more exciting destructive technology.”

Devil May Cry 4 sees a UK release tomorrow and it is looking like a very impressive game. The reviews are out and they are consistently good. GamePro gave the game an awesome 4.5 out of 5, PSX Extreme gave it 9 out of 10 and Game Informer scored the game with an equally impressive 90%. Looks like this one could be a bit of a dark horse.

According to Eurogamer, Ubisoft’s latest release calendar shows that the sequel to their hit franchise Rainbow Six Vegas is on its way next month – March 21, to be exact. As well as a continuation (and finale) to the story/campaign from the first title, it offers improved co-op play and a wider range of online options.

Certain gaming sites and blogs have reported that gamers will be faced with a 20 minute installation of game data before you get to delve into the action of Capcom’s latest title, Devil May Cry 4. Capcom have stepped up and responded to the criticism, citing reduction of in game loading times as a reason for installing game data. Chris Kramer wrote the following on Capcom’s blog.

“Wah! The game takes 20 minutes to install the first time. Wah! Have you ever played a PC game? At least we aren’t making you shuffle multiple discs into a ROM drive, or continuously click “Yes!” on a series of endless Windows dialog boxes.”

“You’ll be amazed how fast levels load, the virtually instantaneous transition from cut scenes to action and that you’re continuously playing the game, as opposed to staring at loading screens of a door opening every time you move from one room to the next.”
