Following on from the screengrabs, here’s a trailer
And for what it’s worth, here’s the key features off of a Lair spec sheet we’ve got -
KEY FEATURES
• Engage in a struggle on an epic scale as your civilization repels the onslaught of an unrelenting army.
• A seamless combination of vast battles in air and on the ground, against other beasts, and armies of thousands.
• Unleash your might through large-scale battles that span both the sky and ground.
• Turn the tides of war with your ferocious dragon. Scorch the ground with flames and command the skies against vicious enemies.
• Immerse yourself in a living, breathing world of voracious beasts, a deep storyline and visceral gameplay.

Looks good, I just hope they upgrade the graphics. I was hoping to see more than just this one level.

Upgrade the graphics I think their good as they are, plus you really cant tell since it isnt in hd and youtube distorts it, but it gives us the idea. This game looks amazing and I think most of the latter is all in game. nice one

i just wonder if Nintendo doesn’t feel like a complete idiot letting factor5 go.
their last gem was the best gamecube only game ever.

game not gem

This trailer is old…
But Lair looks promising, as long as the following are addressed:
-frame rate
-particles (they look terrible)
-HDR. everything was blooming.

I have seen the HD version of the trailer and the demo. Not really uber-impressed. I am happy its not a launch game. I hope it and Warhawk do not come out at the same time. They look similar.

uhm thats like the oldest trailer one could get

john it still got a long development cycle ahead.
why do people always blast games based on Beta’s?
it’s stupid.
Comment by mark — Nov 9, 2006 @ 9:22 am
Because mark… people have a idiotic sense that what they see early off is what they are going to be getting as a final product.
For some reason they don’t understand what the purpose of “development” is.
Comment by jackass — Nov 9, 2006 @ 3:49 pm
mark, did I blast it? no…
I mentioned that it’s promising, but there are some serious issues that will need to be resolved before it’s acceptable.
Constructive criticism.
Blasting would be:
“omg, Lair sux. this game stinks.”
Comment by john — Nov 9, 2006 @ 3:55 pm
Constructive criticism is not Constructive if a product is still in development.
but that’s why it’s pretty pointless on commenting on unfinished products.
Comment by mark — Nov 9, 2006 @ 4:41 pm
Lol, Mark, no worries, but actually Constructive Criticism is only useful when the product is in development.
Afterwards it’s too late to change anything and it just becomes a negative comment.
Look at Motorstorm for example. There was a huge outcry after e3 about how slow it felt. And voila, it’s now been fixed.
Nothing wrong with stating opinions about titles in development.
