Following The Simpsons Movie, the latest bit of original titling from 20th Century Fox is The Simpsons Game. Developed by EA Games in partnership with Fox, it aims to parody the likes of EverQuest, Grand Theft Auto and Medal of Honor.
The game’s landscape features all your favourite corners of Springfield, and the voice talents of the TV show are on board, too. Controlling members of the family, you battle to save middle America’s flagship burg from destruction. The 16 levels ape episodes of the series, down to the famous unique opening sequences.
According to Scot Amos, the game’s executive producer, “We’re also especially proud of the game’s warm visual feel, which captures - for the first time ever in a game - the look of the TV show. As Comic Book Guy says, ‘Best. Simpsons Game. Ever!’” The Simpsons Game is due out in the autumn on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, DS and PSP. Oh, that’s a working title btw. Seems a shame not to use it.
I hope it’s good, but history says it’s likely to suck… The only decent Simpsons game to date is Simpsons Hit and Run on PS2….

It has potential.
What devs need to realise that they don’t have to rush it out just because of a movie. Hopefully they’ll think about what they are doing.
Anyways. this game looks promising. Last simpson game I own is Hit and Run.

EA, movie-related, massively multiplatform… prepare to be underwhelmed even if you had low expectations.

From the stuff I’ve seen on GameTrailers it hasn’t impressed me a great deal. Hit and Run was OK (I still have it actually) but I can’t see there ever being a great Simpsons game.
Even The Simpsons game I have for my Commodore 64 is better than some of the stuff we see today based on The Simpsons.

Oh you will love it, one amazing game.

well the simpsons movie is out in the summer, so if theyre releasing the game in the autumn, maybe theyre planning it to tie in with the dvd release instead.
i agree with most people, a multi format game never achieves its potential on the higher end consoles. im interested, but not sold on the idea yet.

Man the PS3 version should have the game and movie included on a single blu-ray disc.
I’d buy it.

EA developed…. ? Me thinks I’ll pass. Next game please.

I think there’s room for a game that rips off the gaming industry generally, and this one just happens to have the Simpsons in as well. I’m hopeful they’ll include plenty of humour in there and a nice free roaming element.
Regardless of it being any good or not it’ll be a hit - it’s the Simpsons and the release is likely to tie in with the DVD release of the movie.

Any new PS3 games is better than none, thats my attitude towards a new Simpsons game.
It comes to something where i have a batch of games to play on my PS3 but three of them happen to be PS2 games ( in order of when they’ll get played.. FFXII / GOW 2 / OKAMI / Motorstorm & Oblivion, which appears to have been lost in the post somewhere between DVDBOXOFFICE and the UK…. 1 month and counting grrmphh!)

I want to get this game, i heard from what the minute long trailer that was recently shown in LA, California that it looked like it was fun.
Its in pre-alpha form which means EA has a trailer and ideas, i smell a delayed game. http://gtrailervault.blogspot.com
