When Ubisoft secured the rights to develop a video game adaptation of hit US TV drama Lost, we were sceptical. Let’s face it, there aren’t many film or TV to video game adaptations that have received top reviews. Anyway, Eurogamer got their hands on part of the upcoming title, and first impressions sound quite promising. You’ll be playing a separate storyline to the actual TV show along with a new character – though events from the series will tie in with the game storyline. Check it out for character and plot information, as well as a bunch of new screenshots at Eurogamer.

“There are sections where you navigate through the jungle following markers, sections where you run along a forest path away from the Black Smoke, tapping jump and crouch buttons to avoid obstacles, sections where you navigate a dark cave by a pool of torchlight. ”
Hmm, I don’t know about this, Lost is a brilliant franchise but I don’t think it will translate well. Will there be the mini-game where you have to push the button (probably X) in the hatch every 24 hours. Or there is the mini-game where hurley eats doughnuts…
@4
how could they kill Charlie why not that annoying Locke bloke who makes no sense!!

See you have two Little Big Planet images rotating, what is the third?

I feel neither way regarding this title…
Comment by JohnSketch — Jan 25, 2008 @ 12:52 pm
I agree with all the above. There just isn’t enough action in Lost to make a good game. This is purely and simply milking the success of the show and I fully expect it to suck.

“…tapping jump and crouch buttons to avoid obstacles…”
Sounds like these sections could be ‘on rails’. Anyone remember the old Dragon’s Lair games on the Amiga/Atari ST? No? Better to forget, TBH.

Reminds me more of the boulder sections in crash bandicoot!
