Small update!
But is PixelJunk Monsters something to buy or should i find a similar flash game on the Internet?
Comment by Mjolkchoklad — Jan 24, 2008 @ 5:38 pm
It’s not _great_ but its addictive. You can get the PixelJunk Monsters demo in english from jap store so you can try it out.
Comment by Rammstone — Jan 24, 2008 @ 5:45 pm
@1
Well I think most previews were quite positive; plus it’s made by the same people who made pixeljunk racers (excellent), not to mention the XMB background and that great planet visualization.
Comment by Geoff — Jan 24, 2008 @ 5:47 pm
where’s pain? again :’(
Comment by Hugh — Jan 24, 2008 @ 5:49 pm
No DMC4 demo? It was on live this morning!

Is it just me or is this a bit of a rubbish update
No demos then? Turok, DMC 4 and anything else where missing out on in the UK?
Comment by Adam — Jan 24, 2008 @ 6:15 pm
I’ve had those COD4 wallpapers for almost 2 months…
Comment by Divine — Jan 24, 2008 @ 6:28 pm
MONSTERS is great, DMC4 is FANTASTIC. Got the Japanese Store demo, everything’s in English. Download it now!
Comment by Shin-Ra — Jan 24, 2008 @ 6:47 pm
two words, EVERYDAY SHOOTER.
i refuse to pay good money for that pixeljunk monsters trash. racers was just terrible. if i want to play games like that i’ll buy an Amiga 500.
still sore over buying go!ski. how that was ever allowed on the store i’ll never know.
wasn’t Judge Dredd a PS2 game? i do remember having it.
all in all another poor update.
Comment by mobiletone — Jan 24, 2008 @ 6:48 pm
Judge dredd (UK only prob)
no Pain,No Gain
and still no info & refund on the 1.99 $ for the eyetoy games which are in the EU store 2.99 euro
Comment by terrortime — Jan 24, 2008 @ 7:21 pm
shit update as normal.
Comment by mat — Jan 24, 2008 @ 7:31 pm
why is everyone so hung up on getting pain? .. it looks terrible… with about 15 minutes of gameplay in total.
I wish the PSN store would say whether games like Judge Dread are made for PSN or PSOne or PS2 re-releases… without having to look through the menus under PS classcs etc.. i usually just look at the front page and it’s hard to tell from there.
This is my first console so i dont know if they are old games or not…..
Comment by DillonRadio — Jan 24, 2008 @ 7:35 pm
Everyday Shooter
Come on Three Speech, you’ve got contacts
Any reason for the long delay?
Please tell me there is one, other than the guy at Sony Europe is clueless
Comment by Sean — Jan 24, 2008 @ 7:46 pm
What’s Judge Dredd: Zoo Digital Publishing Limited? It’s not on the DK store
Btw the whole local releases thingie on PSN is the most stupid thing ever and I hate Sony for letting EU/DK out in the cold all the time!
Comment by Kasper Skov — Jan 24, 2008 @ 8:17 pm
Why on earth can’t we get the demo of Pixeljunk?
Do they expect us to buy this on whim?
Every other region got a demo before it was released.
Anyway, on to the update. It’s not even funny anymore, it is an absolutely pathetic state of affairs
Only consolation is that civilization looks like being the only decent game since Oblivion.
Comment by Ton Capone — Jan 24, 2008 @ 9:47 pm
So…
GREAT.
The DMC 4 Demo was on Xbox Live this morning in all territories… and the europe PSN gets it when?
Sony - for crying out loud, you need to get your finger out.
Comment by Genki Rocket — Jan 24, 2008 @ 9:58 pm
Oh… and what’s with the COMPLETE lack of PSone games?
If a third rate, two-bit start up like zoo digital can get PSone games certified ON YOUR OWN PLATFORM and you can’t… you may as well give up.
Comment by Genki Rocket — Jan 24, 2008 @ 10:00 pm
DMC NXT WEEK PEEPS.
Comment by E-ROLE — Jan 24, 2008 @ 10:12 pm
Another week, another crap EU update. Oh well, at least I can go to the US/Jap store for the DMC4 demo…
To summarise JANUARY’S content:
ONE New Game
TWO Demos
THREE PS1 Game Ports
ONE Theme
ONE Movie Trailer
ONE Motorstorm Add-on
TWO Folklore Add-ons
FOUR Guitar Hero Tracks
SIX Game Trailers/Previews
NINE Wallpapers
When you look at the backlog of games awaiting release on the EU store, it’s shocking that they’ve only managed to release ONE game all month (I don’t include PS1 ports).
I’m willing to bet that pales into comparison to the Jap/US stores! Quite frankly you wouldn’t be surprised if you had that much content in a single weeks update!
In fact, let’s take a peek at THIS WEEKS update on the US store:
1 Game
2 Demos
2 PS1 Game Ports
1 Folklore Add-on
4 Rock Band Tracks
2 Stranglehold Add-ons (technically 1 add-on 2 versions)
1 Game Video
5 Game Trailers
2 Movie trailers
2 Themes
ONE WEEK ON THE US PSN STORE IS ARGUABLY EQUAL TO IF NOT BETTER THAN AN ENTIRE MONTHS WORTH OF EU PSN STORE CONTENT!!!
Let’s hope they get their finger out in February (I won’t hold my breath though)!
Comment by Apnomis — Jan 24, 2008 @ 10:36 pm
Please can we have some details on when Everyday Shooter will be released?
I really hope it does make the vague “January 2008″ release by appearing next week.
Its a great game, just let me buy it.
Comment by Accordion — Jan 24, 2008 @ 10:37 pm
I feel as if I’m wasting my breath typing this in as it doesn’t appear Sony even looks at this Semi-Official blog. I’m not a PS3 owner either - yet (planning to next couple of weeks) - but with the lack of content relative to the US Playstation Store it always makes me reconsider.
It’s nice to see we get a game the same time as the US for once, but the US is update is a lot more appealing than this.
I’m sure localisation isn’t the case because surely the developers would use the same code as in the full game, cut out out large parts of it and use the normal UI strings, then translate the word Demo, but this can’t take several weeks to do.
It’s interesting that the SCEE territory is where the PS3 is the top selling games console, yet gets crap all support compared to SCEA or SCEJ. What does Sony expect us to do to get some attention?
Comment by Daniel — Jan 24, 2008 @ 10:55 pm
Crap update. Again.
Devil May Cry Demo on US store though…
Comment by Terry — Jan 24, 2008 @ 11:20 pm
@19
Buy a pack of cards mate, you’ll get more games out of it…
Comment by Terry — Jan 24, 2008 @ 11:21 pm
“then translate the word Demo, but this can’t take several weeks to do.”
have you ever worked with translation agencies? A week is the minimum you could expect, and don’t forget it’s then got to though various stages of approval.
By the way Pixeljunk Monsters is worth every penny, played 2.5 hours of it tonight already
Comment by John — Jan 25, 2008 @ 1:16 am
Is SCEE ever going to release Puzzle Fighter HD? Its been six months since the game came out in japan and the states, and still no sign of a european release. Is it really that hard to copy the file over to the EU servers?
Comment by OtakuPunk — Jan 25, 2008 @ 2:02 am
At least you guys have PixelJunk Monsters. Sony can’t even be stuffed updating the NZ store today, I guess I’ll have to wait another week, well unless they can’t be bothered updating it next week either.
Well done SCEE, that’s some brilliant co-ordination you’ve got there.
Comment by LiquidSolid — Jan 25, 2008 @ 2:39 am
how come the US and EU can get PixelTrash Monsters at the same time but nothing else?
be nice to see comments to questions from the people who run this site as it looks like everyone is talking to themselves here…..
Comment by Rimmer — Jan 25, 2008 @ 3:27 am
Why was the New Zealand store NOT updated? I would like to buy Pixel Junk monsters! Also why no demo? It is god dam englsih already and was posted on the japanese store.
Also where is Everyday shooter, the blast factor add on, shivering Isles add on for oblivion, plus a ton of other content.
Comment by Carl — Jan 25, 2008 @ 6:06 am
Three Speech, I think I posted this before but can you give us any information on why stuff like Pain and Everyday Shooter haven’t been released on the PAL store yet? I’m also wondering if you guys relate the comments/feedback directly to someone at Sony or if people venting their frustration or making suggestions on this blog is entirely pointless. I noticed the DMC4 demo came out for everyone except PS3 PALland. Japan had it, US had it, Xbox LIve all regions had it, but no love for Europe/Australasia. Was this a localisation issue?
Comment by Matt — Jan 25, 2008 @ 6:12 am
My advice: If you don’t like the UK store… use the US or Japanese one.
Comment by rooee — Jan 25, 2008 @ 8:24 am
It was posted all over the interweb that the demo for DMC4 would be on the EU PSN a week later than everywhere else (including XBL).
Not that I’m happy about it, I just thought it was already common knowledge.
Comment by Dan (PSN-Detale) — Jan 25, 2008 @ 8:58 am
This is ridiculous, Everyday Shooter and PAIN have been announced months ago through official trailers (the Everyday Shooter trailer I was even forced to watch in French because they went through the hassle of localizing it), but the games still aren’t there.
PixelJunk Monsters is announced a few weeks ago, and bam, there it is simultaneously in the US and Europe.
Why are some games released with respectable ponctuality while others appear to be completely forgotten.
If Sony decided not to market Everyday Shooter and PAIN in Europe anymore after all, the least they should do is inform us about it rather than keep us hoping…
These games (along with High Velocity Bowling) and new GHIII content are my only reasons for checking the PSN every thursday, and I’m generaly very disapointed. I could make a Canadian account with my other CC (related to my mother’s account) and get stuff there, but I’m a “good customer” so I don’t try to bend the rules and risk getting banned for it.
Sony, hurry up and reward my patience and good behavior
Comment by Inzoum — Jan 25, 2008 @ 9:05 am
DMC4 is awesome, its not been since I first played on the PS3 that I’ve been this blown away by a game. Truly next generation.
I didnt play 2 & 3 as I got a XBOX after spilling beer on my PS2 at uni but the first one is easily one of the best games I played.
now I just need to escape work early to get burnout!
Comment by Terry — Jan 25, 2008 @ 9:48 am
lol.
I am the only one that thinks DMC4 is amazingly boring.
Maybe i just dont “get it” ?
square, square, triangle, triangle, square, square…..
it doesn’t even flow well, the baddies are like generic anime fodder.
and the graphics? the backgrounds are so flat and featureless. to me it really looks like a case of a last-gen game with backgrounds re-rendered at a higher resolution.
i compare this to GoW ( which i love ) and, for me, it comes as a definite loser.
i’m not saying it’s terrible but it seems that it’s ignored the steps forward that GoW and Heavenly Sword have made.
Comment by d33p — Jan 25, 2008 @ 10:09 am
@34
Heavenly Sword was VERY short that was my main gripe with it, agree with you on GOW, that was a cool game. Devil May Cry is a lot like Marmite…
Comment by Terry — Jan 25, 2008 @ 12:03 pm
hi peeps,
im a bit new to all of this but i know that it is possible for me to get on to the US psn, how do i go about doing that?
im also quite tiered of waiting for games/demos when i know that they have been released else where! whats the issue?
Comment by manley — Jan 25, 2008 @ 12:04 pm
To be honest, I’m glad there’s not much on the store… it gives me more time for Burnout and Unreal Tournament…
Comment by Kevling — Jan 25, 2008 @ 12:10 pm
Terry
i couldnt agree with you more on the DMC front!
heavenly sword was great for all of about 15 minutes then it just ended up being another button basher, visually supperb though!
its not like i dont play those games at all, i was a god of war fanatic, thats an example of how them types of games should be made!
i know that im going on a bit of a rant here but why did warhawk recieve such low scores IMO that is the best PS3 out, great fun!
Comment by manley — Jan 25, 2008 @ 12:22 pm
@26, 28
Heh, so much for our little PlayStation Nation eh? Over Christmas the Playstation 2 was the best selling console, the Playstation 3 was the best selling next gen console, and the PSP was the best selling handheld console.
Yet Sony still just go “F#$% you New Zealand.”
Comment by Daniel — Jan 25, 2008 @ 9:10 pm
@ Apnomis:
If you want to add to your misery, you should read my posts for “GTA IV Release Date” and “Did Blu-ray just win the HD battle?” blogs.
Generally speaking, I would’ve thought that all PS3 owners would’ve by now been used to the utter contempt that Sony treats European gamers with.
Over & Out.
