The PixelJunk series from Q-Games so far is made up of two games, PixelJunk Racers and the brilliant PixelJunk Monsters. These rather fine titles are about to be joined by a third, PixelJunk Eden, which looks very exciting indeed. With highly stylised visuals and an impressive soundtrack, the game looks like it will be a winner.
A trailer for ‘Eden’ can be seen here.
Even though the third title isn’t even finished yet, a fourth title is planned under the name PixelJunk Dungeons. It’s said to be a top-down dungeon crawler, but beyond that little else is know about this title right now. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we hear anything new.
I am definitely looking forward to this. I never play Racers as it received pretty poor reviews and I am not that into to top-down racing games anyway, but Monsters is an amazing game and Eden looks to be very interesting from the trailer.
I hope that Q-Games can build on the strong foundation that Monsters has given them

the silence is deafening.. i’m no fan of the pixeljunk games series so far, along with that go! dross.
life’s too short. i guess if they’re aimed at kids that’s ok, but they don’t cut it with me on this generation of consoles. saw plenty of stuff like it when i had an Amiga.

I’ll reserve judgement for each title as it arrives. The racers game was a little lame as far as I was concerned (having played the demo), but the Monsters was great.
Going off topic, may I enquire if anybody else got a “Use of Playstation Network has been suspended, Please sign in again later!” message recently? Anyone know why?
It only affected me for about half an hour or so (who knows how long is was down before I tried connecting), but I’m interested to know what was up. When I got back online, there were already many many connected, and they seemed unaware of any problem. Was this just my unit, area, country, region, or what?

I don’t understand. I watched that video and it just baked my noodle. What are you supposed to do and what are the rules of the physics?

I have bought both games so far and liked them both. Racers is a very good racing game, a different concept, but it has so many game modes, and is really addictive, as you try to get those medals.
Monsters is also really well done, though I have found the difficulty scale goes up really steeply.

A true gamer would realise that graphics don’t make the game. Sure, there’s no 3d rim-lighted bump-mapped fully anti-aliased million-polygon churning graphics engine going on, but Pixeljunk Monsters is NOT a kid’s game. It’s a simple strategy game with deceptively deep and rewarding gameplay, and a fantastic bargain at £3.50. I played the 2-player mode with a friend for the first time last night, and we were hooked to the co-op play for hours. Kid’s game? We are both over 30.
I wasn’t too taken by PJ Racers although I liked the simple concept, but I am looking forward to see what they come up with next after the mighty PJ Monsters. Good on ‘em, I say. Potentially great games for those who aren’t snobby about graphics. Saying that, they aren’t terrible graphics; just simple and functional. They’re kinda cute in their way…
