Numero 1 was the best, cant really get into it…

Great game… but I could do without the mandatory install!! I hope that isn’t becoming a trend! I heard Hot Shots will have a mandatory install as well…

I’m enjoying it, though it IS still more of the same, I sure understand people who are getting bored by the series. Bad lack of charisma from bosses too, it hurts after DMC3.
Comment by Mad Godji — Feb 13, 2008 @ 1:43 pm
I’ve just played the demo but i thought it was great. i havent played any of the previous versions….

I think it’s a load of rubbish.
Absolutely nothing new.
Just Heavenly sword with a different main character.
Comment by Ton Capone — Feb 13, 2008 @ 2:30 pm
@ 6: I think you’ll find it’s the other way around, Heavonly Sword is DMC with a different main character.
Comment by ojko — Feb 13, 2008 @ 2:43 pm
it just pales in comparison to the flair and execution from the likes of God Of War. Dress it up all you like, God Of War is better than this.

@7
Either or, they are both pish in my opinion.
Comment by Ton Capone — Feb 13, 2008 @ 3:36 pm
Flat, uninspiring xbox-textures. Just compare with uncharted or resistance. Really poor effort.
Comment by Makasu — Feb 13, 2008 @ 4:02 pm
Terrible 26% = Whats wrong with you guys?
Comment by Gastro — Feb 13, 2008 @ 4:10 pm
Problem is, they promised a myriad of unlocks and tons of weapons, more than all dmc’s combined, and all we have is not enough of than dmc 3. Seriously capcom, you remind me of shampoo… Rinse and repeat. Thats all I see in dmc 4
Comment by Kazuki — Feb 13, 2008 @ 4:43 pm
Mmmm, didn’t really like the PS2 games so haven’t even looked for it.
UT3 next.
Comment by Divine — Feb 13, 2008 @ 5:42 pm
They promised that stuff before the 360 Version was confirmed…
Comment by Wisdom Wanderer — Feb 13, 2008 @ 11:25 pm
I doubt the bonus stuff would have THAT taxing to bolt on that a 360 version scuppered those plans
Comment by Widge — Feb 14, 2008 @ 9:45 am
yeah, not for me….it’s like time stood still for the DMC team.
i dont mind the mandatory install biznizz but i hope sony are watching these things carefully.
i could see a trend of lazy programmers forcing complete 10/15gb installs culminating in a situation like in the old days of pc gaming where you had to pick and choose which games took up your valuable HD real estate!
the less geeky ps3 owners will be completely confuzzled by a “no disk space” message. bad news.
Comment by d33p — Feb 14, 2008 @ 11:41 am
I was under the impression that this install would get rid of loading screens, it doesnt and wheres the uncompressed textures - they’re bland and flat. I remember the first Devil May Cry being good but this is not lighting any fires for me and after the “frog” boss I was left thinking WTF!! Will be trading this in shortly, unless any of you guys want to buy it?
Comment by Terry — Feb 14, 2008 @ 12:44 pm
I loved DMC1, but strayed to Xbox so misse dout on DMC2 and only played a small portion of DMC3 at a mates.
Really impressed with DMC4, gripping storyline, yeah o.k it’s more of th esame, but for anyone who missed 2 and/or 3 it’s a must
Comment by GodfatherObie — Feb 14, 2008 @ 11:01 pm
Personally i love it!,
I have always looked at the series but never bothered to play any of the games until now. The 20 minute wait wasn’t a big deal as others are making out, had a flick through the Limited Edition booklet and made a cuppa. Once the game had finished what it was doing i started and never really put it down for the next four nights, loading times are very nippy indeed, graphics are great, storyline took time to get to grips with but thats what i expected anyway. The moments where you move your player by striking a dice do not integrate very nicely with the rest of the game and is not explained very well in the storyline, but i do love the length of the game, whenever you think the game is almost over it carries on that extra bit longer. Oh and the weapons…… wow
Prefer it to Heavenly Sword.

I played the first one, skipped 2 and 3, and think this is a great game.. The graphics do seem a bit hit and miss in places, but the forest level, is really good.. I’ve just beaten the big snake woman, so not sure how far through it I am, but am doing novice auto-skill up.. There seems to be plenty of moves and abilities to pick and choose from, also seems to have extra characters to play levels with, so a lot of replayability by the look of it too..

Mandatory install sucks. Whilst I appreciate it drastically lowers loads times making it MUCH quicker than the 360 version, it should at least be optional.
Comment by Mark Gillespie — Feb 18, 2008 @ 8:09 am
Damn you Devil May Cry, you give me such repetitive strain injuries, but I love you so…
Comment by Roger — Feb 25, 2008 @ 9:10 am
