Calling all lurkers - we know you are out there!!! We were checking out the Three Speech unique user stats the other day - up to a frankly giddy 20,000 a day - and got thinking about how many of you are reading but not posting. It’s great to have you on board, of course, but it’d be better still to have a few more of you offering your opinions. Thus, our Get The Lurkers Typing Campaign starts here - so please use this thread to say hello, if you haven’t to date. It’s going to be a great year and we want you all involved.

hi 3speech!

more and more friends of mine are buying a ps3 now after waiting and waiting. now value for price seems okay. and i’m happy that there will be some same-level people (beginner, thirtysomethings; lack of time) i know to compete online

i own ps1, ps2, ps3, psp, xbox360, super nes, nintendo ds. currently playing: lumines (yes, finally i like/rediscovered it. battling with my girlfriend; 181k points for me) and and wipeout pulse (great experience with earpluges) on psp, motorstorm (still a great tough game; looking forward to the next motorstorm) and call of duty4 on 360 (right now single player to get into the game).

looking forward to wipeout HD (since this was my first game on ps1 and i still lov the concept/feeling; would like to reuse my negcon controller on ps3 again :-))

Whenever I play CoD4, I usually play as a sniper. I do this because I prefer to not be seen, not be heard, to simply observe and take a few important shots, rather than a hundred spamful ones. And my posting style is much the same.

Been lurking for a while, can’t bring myself to buy a Â£300 40GB PS3 here in the UK though when the US are getting the 80GB MGS4 version for Â£250! Come on Sony, what’s with the rip-offness?

Hi Threespeech and all users. I’ve lurkered for quite a while but because of the PS3 pointless / broken (at times) browser I’ve been unable to comment. I’m glad to see there is a UK blog for Sony (even if it is only semi-offical). It’s a real shame that you don’t tend to show much that I don’t read elsewhere. Why don’t you get any real exclusives considering how many Sony production houses exist in the UK.
I’m currently playing the awesome Patapon on PSP, PAiN, CoD4 (online) Riff, Pixel Junk: Monsters, Warhawk and Tekken on my PS3 which I bought on release day. I’ve had to my PS3 exchanged due to a faulty BD-ROM drive. Has anyone else had a PS3 serious fault issues?
I’m also a blogger and tend to write post about my gaming experience on 20six.co.uk

easy mate i wrk in a games shop and weve heard there is supposed to be a ps3 price cut around june time, when the dualshock six axis comes out
(at least what the sony rep said on their visit).

I have you guys on my RSS together with some other blogs. I must say that all the news you guys post usually post about show up on the other blogs, and much sooner. You should see about throwing together some more insightful articles and such instead of just news. That way you have something unique only to your site.

I write a lot of crap that nobody reads on my blog, maybe I could write some articles for you guys for free. My writing isn’t so bad and I sure as hell know a lot about games and SONY specifically.

What to say, what to say… How about: When will Sony fix the media hub issues?

1. Importing MP3s (from USB) is a nightmare because the PS3 takes the Artist info from the “Contributing Artist” instead of the “Album Artist” tag, resulting in albums getting split by soloist/performer. Just plain wrong.

2. Ripping a CD on the PS3 then copying to PSP is a disaster because the PS3 doesn’t include the track number in the filename so the PSP gets the tracks in the wrong order. Very silly.

3. I have over 300 CDs in there, and grouping only by Artist is no use at all - if I select Philip Glass or Brian Eno I have to scroll through over 500 tracks! Great UI (not). I need tracks sorted by Artist (alphabetically) then Album (chronologically) then track number, and it should be possible to attach an icon to the Album, rather than to the first track of the album - again the disparity with the PSP is a problem (it uses folder.jpg like everything else).

4. A vertical list of Artists, Albums or whatever is inconvenient and unnecessary with all that HD widescreen real estate - go 2D and allow us to select the right group much more quickly! The PS1 and PS2 had a 2D CD interface!!!

5. Why can’t I continue playing music when I go to the store? I can when I use the browser directly.

6. The Blue Marble screen candy is very nice, but fix the stars! And perhaps randomise the fly-through trajectories - the fixed selection becomes rather repetitive (and obsessed with the Persian Gulf!) after a while.

I mean, Jesus Christ guys, I respect your efforts and intentions, but you never post anything I haven’t already seen elsewhere two days earlier!

WHERE ARE THE EXCLUSIVES FROM SCEE? As a “semi-official” (what does that actually mean) you have less information than the “independents”. You are even late with the Thursday update lists which should be the easiest thing for you to do (I get my PAL update lists from an American site - go figure).

I haven’t posted in ages.. I think ThreeSpeech is fast becoming, for want of a better word, (a much better word - Honest!) a touch wanky…

Needs a bit of an edge, just seems to be re-hashing old news at the moment. And in truth, if that’s the direction the site is going - I’d much rather the UK were given parity with the US and had an OFFICIAL blog.

Well, since this is our place to voice our opinion, I’ll just suggest you take a look at the vote on the official Playstation Community Forums (under English Forums > Playstation 3 General Discussion). It seems a squashing majority would like to see an official European equivalent of Sony’s US Playstation Blog, and feel ThreeSpeech isn’t quite the real place to turn to for European Sony/Playstation info… Unfortunately, this is how I personally feel…

Too many people say the word “Missus” on this site, there was an odd period where that word was mentioned, literally, daily. “My missus won’t like that..” “Uh-Oh, the missus will be playing it more than me!” etc etc.. It was a rotten time to exist.

In respect of the poll - It’s got to be a poll about most highly anticipated features for the next firmware update. Home, In-Game XMB.. Some SOLID info that you can take back to Sony. They probably love DATA.

Please bear in mind lurkers that posting or asking a question will result in being completely ignored by Sony/SCEE unless that post or question is praising Sony. If you question their lack of customer relations or quality of games/store content then the universe will contract back into a singularity again before you get an answer.

I usually check 3T - see nothing interesting today - and move on to N4G.COM/PS3 for minute by minute stories, articles, rumours etc. I don’t post on there as it’s a fanbois hunting ground. You can’t beat the site for content though….

I’d probably lurk less if I didn’t have CoD 4 taking up my life. Oh, and Warhawk before that and I get the feeling things are just going to get worse with GTA and GT5P. Keep up the great work though - I religiously look out for the posts and read through them. Would be great for you guys to get more “official” recognition…

Guess I’m a lurker… Been posting a lot on Blu-ray forums but not as much at PS3 forums even if I lurk on them…

Have two PS3:s, one from Sweden and one from Hong Kong. Love both my machines and they are powered on 24/7/365 doing work for Folding@Home and the team The Knights Who Say Ni! while I do not watch movies or play some games.

Would love my PS3:s to become even more The Entertainment system in my home and hope for easy accessible Internet radio and information provider (for weather updates for example). Would also like to see some improvement on the PlayStore. Hate all kind of region codings (on Blu-rays, SingStar, PlayStore, Rockband etc) and hope Sony and other sompanies understand they will make more money if the did not spend money on trying to develop ways for customers to NOT buy their products…

Sony is doing a good job in developing and evoling The PLAYSTATION 3 and I hope they continue with it.

Hi all. Been keeping up with Three Speech for a while now (amongst many others). Have never felt the need to post, but here I am. I’ve a 60gb PS3, an old school PSP and much else besides. Playing Pain, Pixeljunk Monsters, Burnout Paradise and Unreal Tournament right now. Looking forward to GT5P, LBP, Haze (despite the delays) Dark Sector and Viking.

Hello, I’m a lurker.

I have a 360, a Wii, a PC , and a PS3. But the PS3 is my favorite platform and I’m really looking forward to all the exciting stuff coming this year.

The two things I’d like most of all this year are in-game menu access and maybe a slightly larger controller. I got big hands!
Honestly though, if anyone from Sony reads this then you would sell a hell of a lot of larger controllers if you made them. How can one size fit all. Come on Sony be different. It would be the only console to have 2 different sizes of controller! :oD

We need more social features though please! Why won’t you release an in game XMB Sony? I don’t care about Home I just want to be able to play with and message/chat to my friends during games.

Looking forward to Haze, Kilzone 2, Littlebigplanet and of course MGS.

Oh and keep up the dedicated servers. We might not mention it very often but we reeeaaalllly appreciate the lag freen gaming.

Hi Threespeech. Really like the idea of official / non official website of Sony. My PS3 is really turning into the media centre of the house. Can’t wait for play TV, but please do not make it expensive and keep the price realistic. Very disappointed that GT: Prologue has an online price of Â£24.99. It does not make sense that I bought it from GAME for Â£19.99, pre ordered and I got it on the same day of release as the network. Sony you really need to sort out your pricing policy. That aside I am really looking forward to the release of the Blue Ray live. That said….now I am ranting, still find it hard to forgive sony for not putting the ps2 chip in so you still need to do a lot of making up………..how about europe as first port of call for releases rather then the Japanese market who got ps3, first, cheaper, with ps2 chip and have the priority for psn exclusive stuff.
