It would appear many people across Europe are looking forward to the release of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue as there are now orders for almost a million units across SCEE territories. This makes it look extremely probable that GT5P will be the PS3’s first pre-release platinum title. If you have seen any of the screens we’ve been showing you over the past few weeks we think you’ll agree with us that this game is looking stunning.
Very impressive indeed and with only ten days to go this story is an excellent excuse to give you more GT5P screens. Enjoy!
The tv ad in the UK looks fab. Should sell a lot of PS3’s too.

It would take 600k unit sales for a title to go Platinum on the origianl PS, so hopefully it will be nice and cheap soon enough! Yeah the ad gave me goosebumps!

I like the big “Actual in-game footage” message across the bottom of the TV advert. Really hits home just how freakin awesome this looks

Hey ThreeSpeech, here’s another little article you could knock up. What goes on behind the scenes to ensure a smooth launch? Insights from distributers, bricks&mortar shops, online retailers, and delivery services. I’d love to see a picture of a warehouse containing those million or so copies, waiting to be shipped. Wow, imagine that shit!

Shows how badly the PS3 is in need of AAA (I wouldn’t call GT5P, a tired franchise, a Killer App) titles, that when one appears, there a frenzy to get it.

@Zed Zee - hmmm…….whatever. If wouldn’t matter if ther had been 10 “killer apps” released for PS3, GT ALWAYS gets a frenzy like this, no matter if it was PSX, PSX2 or PS3. GT has tried to push the hardware to the limit every time. Gamers know this and look forward to seeing precisely why they bought the console in the first place, and helps scurge memories of games like “The Golden Compass”
I saw the TV ad and my god it does look good. I was gonna get it anyway, but jesus, to see it running it does give you goosebumps

For all the people saying about how true to life this game is - it’s nowhere close.
I’ve had the jap version for ages along with many others and it’s a great racer but guys, we’re nowhere near getting photorealism in games, weird shadows, jaggies, tearing and clipping are as prevalent in gt5p as any other racing game released thus far.
I’m really looking forward to the pal release, but I can’t help thinking if this is how much hype prologue’s getting - will the full gt5 be an anticlimax? Are they ruining their releases (and possibly harming sales) by releasing different versions?
