This is El Fuerte from Street Fighter 4, a Mexican wrestler who uses the Lucha Libre style of fighting. He’s the latest new character to be announced for Capcoms fourth version of its popular one-on-one fighting game.
Other than El Fuerte two more new comers will be included in the game, the previously announced Crimson Viper, and Abel. On top of these three new characters several old favourites have been confirmed with Blanka, Chun-Li, Dhalsim, E. Honda, Guile, Ken, Ryu, Zangief, Balrog and Sagat all making a return to the game.

See what they’ve been up to in the meantime:

Man do we really need a mexican character in this game? I mean come on stick with what we like and quite adding stupid un-needed character. It seems like every fighting game is adding them and they are the most pointless character in games.

“Mexican wrestler who uses the Lucha Libre style of fighting.”
Don’t you mean Nacho Libre (Jack Black) style?
This is truly laughable stuff, Capcom…

hang on a mo! have i missed something here? are these “newly released” pieces of artwork actually a ploy to help ppl forget about street fighter 2 HD?
any1 else remember that? or have capcom been paid off by microshaft to not release a superior version of one of their arcade games on ps3?
wouldnt be surprised 1 jot if that was the case! cos c’mon, when was the last time sf2hd was even mentioned in a ps3 site or blog?
hmmmmm im jus gonna give mulder an scully a quick ring, see what they know!

Street Fighter 4 is shaping up to be the game of 2009. I’ve looked at the screenshots, trailers, reviews, arcade play, etc and haven’t found much to complain about. Looking forward to getting into some tournaments!
