Hope you’re all looking forward to Soul Calibur IV, which is coming out at the end of July. The fourth iteration of the popular Soul Calibur series is set to continue the trend of its predecessors with lighting-fast sword play and stunning visuals.
If all that wasn’t enough for you, don’t forget, the developers have thrown in a high-profile guest character for you to play as - the one and only Darth Vader. What other curveball characters would you like to see in games?

Vader pwns Yoda

Jet from Gladiators has the right calibre!

I wish they would include the same song that was in the original soul blade intro, it was a big part of giving that game its flare.

i think they should put in hayden christenson. not his character in star wars but he himself so we can all wail on the pussy that is the actor. that i would like to see. long live the vader.

I would soooo lve Dane in a Soul Calibur. I know it’s not possible, concurrent intellectual properties, but damn!
Comment by Mad Godji — Apr 25, 2008 @ 4:36 pm
I still prefer the name ‘Soul Edge’,
Comment by linton — Apr 25, 2008 @ 4:36 pm
Meh, can’t type. I meant I would love Dante in SC.

can we have a new Rumble Roses please
Comment by mobiletone — Apr 25, 2008 @ 5:43 pm
Jabba the Hutt of course.

I’d like to see Rutger Hauer from Ladyhawke make an appearance. In the night levels he could be a vicious, throat-biting wolf, and then during the day he could cry uncontrollably because he doesn’t get to bone Michelle Pfeiffer.

snake or cyborg ninja

Excuse me, but won’t that light sabre slice through a conventional sword, as a knife through butter?
Comment by Zed Zee — Apr 25, 2008 @ 10:07 pm
why involve vader, cause in real life,,,lol,, he would kill them all!
Comment by manley — Apr 25, 2008 @ 10:28 pm
Kratos, Nariko or Dante. His appearance in Shin Megami Tensei Lucifer’s Call (Nocturne Maniac) was fun.
In my opinion Nariko is maybe the most well placed to coincide with Soul Calibur’s environment.
But i guess it should be a Sony or a Namco character. Rick Taylor from Splatterhouse? *__*
KOS-MOS from Xenosaga

@5
Totally agree! I’ve been begging them to throw all of the old tracks into the new games for years. With the size of a blu-ray disc I think that now might be the time. “Wind and Clouds” anyone?
Comment by Justin Bailey — Apr 26, 2008 @ 1:38 am
I’d like to see John Steed of The Avengers, with his sword in a brolly. Not the new film guy though, the original, Patrick Macnee. That would be funny. Ha ha ha! He’d bamboozle Vader with prose. What what!!

I’d just like to share with you, some exciting news. I hope you’re sitting down…
… Play posted GTA to me on the 24th. It may be here already.
Oh my goodness. I think I’ll have to climb out of my pit and explore the postbox. Please let it have been delivered. Hee hee, gotta go…

You want to have MOORE crazy characters? Putting Yoda and Vader in the game is allready blasphemy!
Comment by RageFan — Apr 26, 2008 @ 10:04 am
Ryu Hayubusa
Ninja Gaiden

@16: Yes a lightsaber would slice through a conventional sword like butter, but remember the swords used in Soul Calibur are magical and magic swords are obviously equal to a light sword in power and durability

One man: Morgan Freeman.

Basil Fawlty!

Cloud Strife and / or Sephitroth from Final Fantasy VII… Well, if Square and Namco managed it in the “Ehrgeiz”-Joint-Venture then why not in another Soul Calibur game?
Comment by codshin — Apr 26, 2008 @ 4:24 pm
A granny and her all powerful handbag!
Conner McLoud (Highlander), and his arch enemy whats-his-face!
Comment by LordOfRuin — Apr 27, 2008 @ 11:11 am
1) Cloud Strife
2) Gray Fox/Ninja
3) Dante
Vader FTW btw.

@28:
Connor MacLeod and The Kurgan / Victor Kruger would be a cool combination. Leave Connery’s Scottish Spaniard out though!
Comment by Monkey Rimmer — Apr 28, 2008 @ 8:42 am
The post seems to refer to other games too.
i thought Phil Collins in Vice City Stories was genius. I wonder if there will be something similar in GTA IV.
What about an unlikely Sex and the City tie-in (please god no).
