Codemasters have generously arranged some great prizes for us to give away, namely the unique piece of artwork pictured above (this is the only one in the entire world…) and three copies of Overlord: Raising Hell on the PlayStation 3.
First prize will be the artwork itself and copy of the game. Two runners up will receive copies of the game. To be in with a chance you’ll need to send your name and address to blog@threespeech.com along with the correct answer to the following question…
Which of the following is not a realm in Overlord: Raising Hell?
A) Mellow Hills
B) Golden Halls
C) Ruborian Peaks
If you’re not sure what the answer is get over to the Codemasters website and have a look…
Send your emails with the subject line ‘Overlord Comp’. First correct entry out of the hat wins the star prize, the second two will be the runners up. The competition will close at 5pm on Monday, and we can only send prizes to UK addresses - sorry international readers!

ooo, that’s ace!… *enters*

@ThreeSpeech
You do know that SCEE covers more than the UK?
We have yet to see a competition that is open to non-UK residents.
Why is that?
Comment by Erik Mejer Hansen — May 16, 2008 @ 2:12 pm
great, another non-european contest from the semi-official sony europe blog… its not that expensive to ship within europe you know.
Comment by DS — May 16, 2008 @ 2:12 pm

booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
When is the article that I wrote for you going to be posted, it has been 5 weeks since it was sent to sony for approval and I have heard nothing!!!!!
Comment by carl — May 16, 2008 @ 3:10 pm
3: Not that expensive, but can be a lot trickier legally - not the shipping, but the competition itself.
Though it would be nice to see that addressed, and maybe a few competitions open to everywhere *except* the UK to make up for it.

Demo surprised me as i was prepared for worse, but enjoyed it in the end, specially setting fire to the fields.
love the painting by the way, perfect for keeping the in-laws away.

@ Threespeech
Just wondering. On average, how many entries do you get for these competitions you run?
Cheers

The reason why competitions are UK only are not due to postage or anything silly like that. Ask any lawyer about doing a pan-european content as he/she tends to go weary. Problem is that there are quite varied rules across Europe for what constitutes a competition, how a competition can be held, what tax and vat rules applies to prices and so on. So in order to do a cross European content you have to first get legal advice from all countries involved, figure out if there is any kind of lowest common legal denominator that makes holding a competition possible and even then you have to figure out how to pay any needed taxes etc., in the respective countries where a winner might reside.

Err, seems my spelling is off. Twice I say ‘content’ and mean ‘contest’

I also played the demo and was not overly impressed. My son however, really liked it. I may enter the comp on his behalf.

I am particular fond of the debug message boxes on the [ http://www.codemasters.co.uk/raisinghell/ ] page that tell me “englishuk” when I click on any of the links at the top of the page.
Very professional!
As for the game itself, not enough action to keep my interest beyond a few minutes, and it did not strike me as having the visual qualities that demonstrate the potential output from the PS3 either.
…But my kids loved it to I may just look for the PC version for them. I see from the site that a PC Expansion pack is available for £4.99, so hopefully a similar pricing model with exist from the PlayStation Network.

…ah, from Wikipedia…
===
Overlord: Raising Hell is the official expansion to the 2007 action-adventure video game Overlord, which was released available for download over Xbox Live for the 360 version and online for the PC version worldwide on February 15, 2008 alongside additional multiplayer add-ons. A PlayStation 3 version of the original Overlord to be released in Summer 2008 will also be named under the same title, as it will include all downloadable content to date on one Blu-ray Disc.
The expansion adds an extension to the game’s single player with new levels, plot, enemies and weapons.

@26 [Rodge]
In the “European” blog entry [ /blog/?p=1081 ] ThreeSpeech did respond to say that they had received my entry.
I did query whether the UK was part of Europe & whether I could enter twice though
