i now have a 250Gb ps3 so i win anyway
using the 60 i pulled from it as an external drive now.

took five hours what with all the back-up etc. nice.

and what’s the deal with that blue screw? jeez. i
had to use pliers to get that sucker out.

@ mobiletone - I just upgraded my PS3 to 320GB, and bought an enclosure for my old 60GB. What did you use to format the old drive on your PC? When I connect it via USB, the drive is recognised, but it doesn’t show up on ‘My Computer’ because it’s in the PS3 disk format, so I can’t format it as either FAT32 or NTFS.

PSh! my harddrive is hardcore - powered by mutant gerbiles from bulgaria that whom if i so much as stare at them will go into a complete murderous frenzy that causes the HD to have magical powers.

@3 download swissknife and do a quick format in fat32 this will erase the encrypted sony stuff and your new drive will show up on your pc and ps3,just google search swissknife,if you have vista run the program in xp mode!

@4 - I did have one of those, but when I tried to give the gerbils water, my PS3 made a funny buzzing sound and stopped working

@ Paranoimia - i used a little download called fat32format to nuke the 60Gb. i did have to initialise the drive first as it didn’t show up (do a google) then it was ok to format it. works a treat as an external. the 250Gb is nice.

@ JohnSketch - i’m sure that’s not the only use you have for those gerbils

Going to Ikea with Mrs Rimmer is going to be much cheaper than letting her go on her own… and it doesn’t increase your chances of winning either way.

Competition winners are usually announced mid-to-late afternoon.

Fingers-crossed you get lucky anyway.

(And not just in Ikea’s bed department).
