Why the delay, though?
I’ve been pretty sympathetic towards this site in the past, but when our own “Official” mouth-piece doesn’t even bother posting about updates it beggars belief!
Had to get it off Eurogamer.
This really is becoming a pointless waste, I’m afraid..

A nice update last week, have’t got around to giving the Civ demo a go yet though as i’ve been too busy sneaking my way through MGS4!
Can you get anything from SCEE as to why we didn’t get the MGS4 database app? And not just the standard ‘localisation issue’ issue.. Just seems strange as the game was released globally and all..

we live in hope !

The PlayStation Network title “Pain” also received a free update last Thursday (to version 1.67 with a 48Mb download size).
Two new layouts were included; “Block Party” & “Demolition”, each with their own (online) leaderboards & in-game trophies.
The MP3 file of the theme tune available on the ‘Store can now be played throughout the titles/menu sequence as well as in-game, by way of the new “Jukebox” feature. Other MP3 files can also be played if required if you have any on your console’s hard drive. AAC file support is not available yet, but is being worked on.
The new update also provides the option of multi-player games (such as “HORSE”, “Pain Bowling”, and/or “Fun With Explosives”) to allow each player to use a different character if desired.
The “Replay” facility has been tweaked so that there is a prompt to allow a replay of the last launch, and the on-screen user interface can be removed so that the text does not obscure any of the action.
Finally, the loading of the game is somewhat quicker as the boot-up logo sequence can be skipped.
A new character, “Nigel the Punk” (“…the British Rock Star”, if you are in the US)”, is also due to be, erm…, launched as a (probably low-cost optional) add-on ’soon’ too.
The other six optional characters (Santa, Cookie, Hung-Lo, Scurv Dogg, Ginger, & Muffy) are still available at a bargain 69 pence each, and the “Fun With Explosives” download remains as a no-cost Add-on!
At £4.99, “Pain” is one of the cheapest game titles I have ever bought, and it is still one of my favourite PS3 titles.
I regularly spend hours at a time on it ["…just one more go"] at least one or two nights per week, and my three kids & I had a couple of hours play with the new update yesterday morning.
However, this Friday sees the release of “Robert Ludlum’s The Bourne Conspiracy”, and “Battlefield: Bad Company”. “Kung Fu Panda” too.
Splitting a finite family income on food, fuel, or fun… “Pain” indeed
BFN,
fp.

Loving the MGS4 database - 3 cheers for the internet!

This is all fine and well, but where’s WipeOut HD?!? It’s been delayed over and over, it was supposed to be released between May and June, and there’s been zero news on it. It looks like it’s probably gonna be pushed back to July, or even later. *sigh*
Your cycling wipeout hd site banners arent helping matters either.

ThreeSpeech just post the info given to them by SCEE. It’s not the fault of ThreeSpeech if they’re late posting news like this.
@2
The database was already localised by Konami (as you would expect, they have their own team of translators after all). The fact is that SCEE, SCEJ, and SCEA all do their own QA process before they put something on their respective stores. The SCEE one takes longer than the other two. That’s all there is to it. Hopefully it’s something SCEE are working on.

Aside from the Golf course, all the good stuff has been available on the US store for a while now and while I’m at it, where’s the MGS Database. Xbox Live has figured out how to release content globally at the same time, why can’t Sony.
