Here’s a few screens and the official press release. Rag Doll Kung Fu has just joined the list of games that will support PlayStation Network Trophies. We’re looking forward to getting a few ourselves…
OVERVIEW
Rag Doll Kung Fu™: Fists of Plastic is a PS3 exclusive party-fighting game based on an original title by the creator of LittleBigPlanet™, and developed by Tarsier Studios. A fast-paced combat game with an imaginative look and feel, Ragdoll Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic focuses on fun with exaggerated ragdoll physics action and charming High Definition (HD) visual effects. Featuring accessible and intuitive controls, even novice players can orchestrate impressive attacks with ninja-like precision. Additionally, hardcore players will appreciate the deep combat system, weapons use and strategy. Success depends mightily on the player mastering the basic Kung Fu moves and sharpening his acrobatic skills by swinging off platforms and somersaulting through the air. This action builds up Chi Power, which can be conjured to perform spectacular SIXAXIS™ wireless controller-triggered special attack moves and combat sequences. Furthermore, players can taunt their opponents with the Free Pose system, ensuring the battle is infused with lighthearted fun.
Players can perfect their Kung Fu skills in the Solo Adventure and also take their characters online with a variety of addictive free-for-all and team-based multiplayer modes, including King of the Hill, Assassin and Capture the Fish. Perfect for any social occasion, Rag Doll Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic offers frantic multiplayer action with up to 4 players locally or online.

So its a ripoff of Super Smash brothers without the recognisable characters?

No, it’s the followup to Rag Doll Kung Fu, the PC game which nobody ever accused of being a SSB rip-off.. because the games are completely different apart from being side-on 3D platform fighters.
Are you here to troll by any chance?

And judging by the ignorance of your post, I’m not surprised ThreeSpeech have censored you in the past.

The characters in “Super Smash Bros. (Melee/Brawl)” are only recognisable if you play Nintendo games.
Have you seen the fan-created movies from the PC Version (released in 2005) [without the "Fists of Plastic" suffix]?
For example,

Oh threespeech, might want to consider removing those wipeout HD banners in favour of something else, seems wipeout is coming “hopefully by the end of the year” and might be cancelled…

I think they may well already be aware of this news, Geoff…

But a subtle reminder doesn’t hurt!

This game looks fantastic from what I’ve seen, though I’m still trying to figure out how the control mechanics work… any chance of a playing demonstration prior to the release?
Either way, it looks like the perfect game to fill the gap before LBP.

@carl(t.c.m) Cant you just be happy that we’re getting original content. This game looks ace. Stop whinging and bitching all the time :p

@Carl (t.c.m) Do you always moan??? This is excellent original content, nothing like Smash Bros (which is pants anyway). If your not interested in whats coming out, stop reading Threespeech and posting negative comments. No wonder they censored you.

So how does this version differ from the original PC version of Rag Doll Kung Fu?
Comment by ojko — Jul 21, 2008 @ 7:03 am
I’ll give it a go if it’s less than a fiver GBP.

Does it worry anyone else that it seems that most of the PSN titles appear to be more compelling than the AAA/BluRay titles?
Ok, must be just me then.
Comment by Savage — Jul 21, 2008 @ 1:22 pm
@11 [Savage]:
No, I agree.
I play “Pain” & “Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection (Online)” more often than I play any other title; both downloaded from the PlayStation Network & both somewhat cheaper than any Blu-ray disc-based game.
Of course, it could just be laziness, as these two games are pre-installed on my hard drive
Did you see my recent post in the “Fat Princess” thread about “Flock” (yet another pending PSN release)?

It’s going to be interesting to see how you can get trophies from a fighting game.

Yes, This game does look much like SSB, but only as much as SSB looks like a clone of Power Stone (dreamcast/psp) of a few years ago.
It looks good and I’m looking forward to it!!

On PC, you lift the limbs to walk and fight, possibly meaning an assassin’s creed style limb syncing control layout?
