Comment by Nathaniel — Sep 16, 2008 @ 10:57 am
kewl, can’t go wrong for £12. Just enough time to stick some Flying Lotus on my HDD
Comment by mrsatansdojo — Sep 16, 2008 @ 11:02 am
You don’t mention the price here though.
I’ve seen £11.99 on other sites. You say the same?
Comment by Mark — Sep 16, 2008 @ 11:15 am
@Mark
Yes Threespeech said it will be £11.99 in a earlier post
Comment by Mr. Monkey — Sep 16, 2008 @ 11:19 am
…but with how the wallet now tops-up it will be £15 taken out my bank…
Ah well, Really excited next week can not come soon enough, Duke Nuke Em 3D on XBL on Wednesday, then Wipeout HD on Thursday….

@Mr Monkey - thanks
Comment by Mark — Sep 16, 2008 @ 1:04 pm
@Monkey - is that right? I know that the minimum top-up amount is £5 but I don’t remember seeing that all top-ups have to be in multiples of five pounds. I.e. if your wallet is empty and you want wipeout you just transfer and pay £11.99 not £15.
Comment by reakt — Sep 16, 2008 @ 1:11 pm
I believe that to add funds to my wallet from my (Maestro) bank card, I can only add multiples of £5. Could be wrong, haven’t double-checked but that’s how I think it has always been.

I found Wipeout 3 in a bargain bin the other day so bought it to sample some retro action, only thing is it does not work on PS3. Roll on Wipeout wooo.

What a week to release a demo to the PlayStation Network to try to resolve the luke warm reviews received for the full game (contrary to the end of week video game chart ranking)…
” Mercenaries 2 demos this week”

News by Rob Purchese
Yesterday
EA has said there will Xbox 360 and PS3 demos for Mercenaries 2 arriving any day now.
The sampler was due to appear on Live Marketplace last Friday, but, for one reason or another, still hasn’t made its way onto the service. We suppose that means the demo could go live at any moment, which is quite exciting. Sort of. But not really.
The rather more predictable PS3 version, on the other hand, is expected in the weekly PlayStation Store update this Thursday.
Mercenaries 2 is already out on both formats, of course, but had a rather rocky time in Kristan’s critical hands. He thought the openworld action game was dated and unremarkable, and stamped it with an off-putting 5/10 - certainly one to try before you buy.

Unlucky TerryG - With my original 60gig PS3, I’ve been enjoying the old wipeout3, hoping to improve my skills. I was rubbish. I can’t wait for next thursday. Dunno how much I need the Burnout update, but if it’s good then I’ll play, but if not, then I’ll continue to not play with it anymore. Ha ha! Well, it’s a freebee isn’t it. Oh Wipeout, I’ve waited so long for you. In fact, I remember that my first thoughts after buying a PS3, were for a Wipeout game. Yay!

YES! Finally!!!! See you all on the track!

@reakt
It used to be the exact amount in the wallet, but pretty sure now it is only multiples of 5…
Think it changed with the firmware 2.40, might of been before…
Its a moot point as Ms and Nintendo do the exact same thing, you can only top up a set amount of “points”. Sony are just doing the same thing only with real cash money…
Will find out on Thursday for defs tho, as I only have 1p in my Sony wallet…
Comment by Mr. Monkey — Sep 16, 2008 @ 4:16 pm
@ Mr Monkey -
Yes topping up your psn account has to be a minimum of £5, however, if you decide to purchase something thats say… £11.99, and you do not have enough funds - the psn prompts you to say that you haven’t got enough funds on your account, but because £11.99 is more than £5, it will let you top up just £11.99
honest.

I posted this before at Reakt, but Threespeech is not displaying it…
Yes it used to be like that, but pretty sure since firmware 2.40 it has now changed, I bought Eden, before I could top-up £4.99 when I tried it would not let me…
Its a moot point as MS & Nintendo do the same thing only with their points… Sony just do it with real cash money…
Comment by Mr. Monkey — Sep 16, 2008 @ 7:00 pm
I also said, I will find for defs out next thursday… Not bought anything over £7 on PSN so you may be right…
Comment by Mr. Monkey — Sep 16, 2008 @ 7:04 pm
Topping up in £5 increments is pretty fair if you ask me… The clearing companies take a cut of each transaction… How many shops do you know that let you pay on card when you are spending less than fiver

Does anyone know if burnout is platinum now?
Comment by ThreeSpeechlover — Sep 16, 2008 @ 10:52 pm
Nope… “Burnout Paradise” is getting cheaper (PowerPlayDirect: GBP 23.49; Zavvi: GBP 25; In-store at Asda: GBP 25.ish) but hasn’t reached the Greatest Hits/Platinum status yet.
It will be available to download from the (US) ‘Store soon (’this fall’) though… including all free downloadable add-on packs to date & will cost USD 29.99.
