Kratos should have been a UK exclusive, we’re getting a bit skanked on the LBP DLC front.

Non-Sony characters lined up for future DLC

The latest issue of US games mag EGM claims that characters from third-party games and Disney characters are to appear in LittleBigPlanet DLC.

According to the rumour, non-Sony properties are lined up to be added to the game as post-release downloadables.

None of this is official, but with Sony having already revealed Nariko (Heavenly Sword) and Kratos (God of War) Sackboys as downloadable characters, there’s plenty of scope for variations of the little cloth character to appear.

We’re currently awaiting a (no) comment from Sony UK.

Though ‘Solid Sack’ is cool and trying not to sound overly cynical (I’m aware companies primary goals are to make money and Sony has lost alot this gen) I doubt they will be free when they can ‘nickel & dime’ a fortune out of you.

I noticed in the ‘Premium Themes’ they added to the US PStore last night that there was licensed themes from different game companies who must take a percentage and I can only assume that they will continue this business model for licenced LBP DLC.

I imagine if theres a marketing opportunity then there will be free downloads, I wouldn’t be surprised to see things like Dr. Pepper or Dominoes pizza sponsored levels appearing for free at some point.

That’s the first I’d heard of the DLC Disney skins. Very interested… Quality all depends on which companies/developers get involved I suppose.
The Helghast skins stll look the daddies though

With the imminent nationwide release of “High School Musical 3″ I really would not be surprised if ‘Troy Sackboy’ & ‘Gabriella Sackgirl’ were offered as Disney downloadable content in the very near future.

Sony would clean-up in a huge market share of kids (some young, some younger, and some not-so-young) looking for a decent “HSM” game title. If/when “LittleBigPlanet” makes it to the small handheld screen of the PSP, this would be an ideal opportunity to convert all the “chicks & kids” Nintendo fanbase to Sony products.

I’m not sure if a reciprocal advertising deal (such as we saw with James Bond and BMW vehicles, for instance) would be suitable for “LittleBigPlanet” in this context, but if Media Molecule’s game was on show somewhere in any Disney production this would surely be the greatest (worldwide) endorsement the title could gain.

# Get-Get-Get your head in the game… etc.

I’d like to see Dash & Violet Parr playing a “LittleBigPlanet” level in the second outing of “The Incredibles”; however, the title would probably have to be on some Apple-related product before that would happen.

Hmmm… “LittleBigiPhone”.
