2008 could just be the fastest year in recorded history. As if by magic it’s already mid-November, summer having been compressed into a few hours that passed by sneakily while everyone was looking the other way. Anyway, as the year draws to a close people are starting to look back on all that has happened in the past months. There’s been a lot going on in 2008, not least in the world of gaming.
We’ll be canvassing your opinions on the key moments later in the year - but to get you thinking here are the the Spike Video Game Award nominees in the category of best PS3 game. Let us know what you think? Is there one contender that’s head and shoulders above the rest? Is there a criminal omission from the list? Thoughts in the thread please…

I haven’t played Resistance 2 yet, but I doubt it will change my top three.

Metal Gear……anything else would be a travesty
I make the note that I have all three consoles + psp and am an avid pc gamer and amongst all the titles i have played and seen this year none of them pair up to the grand scale and nature of what Metal Gear achieved.

The list is simple.
1. MGS 4.
2. LBP.
3. GTA IV.
All these games are amazing and if any one of them gets GOTY instead of the other, it doesn’t matter much, they are all the pinnacle of gaming in 2008.
