Not as good as the E3 Prerender BUT it is very close. The beta is awesome, much better than resistance 2 online (not the coop)

Perdy…
What you really need now is to see them running real-time….screenshots can be deceiving!

are these actual in game shots or have they been ‘cleaned up’ for magazines etc?
*checks* 1280×720 so very possibly genuine.
still impressive though. i hope this game lives up to the hype, from what i’ve seen of the beta footage it does.

LBP Designer Sticker Pack #1
Navigate to the Little Big Planet itself, scroll down to the ‘Cool levels’ option, then select search from the right hand side. When the tags list appears, press SQUARE. Type in ‘Planetoid Monthly’ and a search results page will appear. Find the level called Little BIG Planetoid Monthly, which is located over the UK and in this level you’ll find our regular sticker pack releases. Heart us as a creator to find us more easily in the future.

I’m playing the beta of Killzone 2 at the moment. All i can say is this game is totally capable of these images. This game will be a new benchmark for the games industry. The atmospherics, immersion, attention to detail and gameplay are amazing.

I find it very difficult to distinguish my team members from my enemies during the “Killzone 2” game-play due to the slight variation in the colouring of the player name/handles above the in-game characters, no doubt due to the fact that (as I have mentioned at Three Speech previously) I am red/green & ’shade’ colour-blind.
The only way to tell who is on my team from a distance is to see if the opposing character fires first, or if up-close then trying to establish if the other soldier has a full mask or just has their mouth covered. This is, for want of a better phrase, ‘sub-optimal’ in a free-flowing game.
I can see that each side has a team symbol that is shown with a distance indicator but when a number of in-game characters are in close proximity to each other a more accurate detection of relevant players is needed. The on-screen radar, again, is colour-coded in a scheme which is not helpful to me.
As a suggestion I would like to see a configurable colour scheme (or perhaps just one alternate choice such as blue/yellow), or different symbols (circles, diamonds, squares, etc) on the radar? Such configurable options may already exist, but it was not apparent from the Beta Trial menu structure, and without the benefit of written instructions my first few matches were very “trial & error” based. Even now I occasionally target & even fire off a round at one of my team members because I struggle to distinguish them from the enemy!
Colour-blindness of the two most common types (I mentioned above) is not a unique attribute to the population, and this game is certainly not the first to not offer sufficient support for a widespread disability. I have the same problem with online multiplayer games of “Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare”, and after trying unsuccessfully to determine same-side team members I gave up playing online, and have not returned.
I hope that there can be a workaround with regards the multiplayer aspects of “Killzone 2″ because I prefer the game-play (environments, weapon load-out, presentation, and substance) to the “Call of Duty” title or, indeed, anything I have played before today.
The Beta version also does not offer the option to take cover against walls & other objects, and/or provide the facility to switch the “over-shoulder” view to either the left or the right side.
Granted, these are features that are found in many first/third-person shooter titles, and you may wish to distinguish “Killzone 2″ from the title’s most immediate ‘competitors’ (such as “SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation” &/or “Resistance 2″). Such in-game options do provide valuable tactical advantages, but it may be the aim (pun unintentional) to promote “Killzone 2″ as a faster-paced multiplayer experience. If so, then it is certainly that!
Titles that do offer the options I mentioned seem to attract players that camp-out with a sniper rifle for the entire duration of a match. Not that this is unrealistic in any warfare technique, but I am guessing that the duck’n’cover & alternate viewpoint options may have been a specific design decision rather than an oversight/omission.
Even with these points, I still, as I said above, think “Killzone 2″ is the best First Person Shooter title I have ever played (on any platform) on the strength of the online multiplayer game-play alone!
If it is any indication to anybody else how good “Killzone 2″ is I mentioned yesterday in the “Killzone 2 - interview with AI designer Rob Heald” blog entry, I bought “Resistance 2″ on (European) release day (28 November 2008) after thoroughly enjoying & being a very active member of the Beta Trial period of this title, but I have only played the story (campaign) mode for about an hour, and have been online on two occasions since.
“Killzone 2″ for the win! [I can’t believe I just typed that]
BFN,
fp.
