LittleBigPlanet is set to sweep the board at this years GANG awards. Media Molecule’s attendees better have their acceptance speeches ready as the Game Audio Network Guild has nominated LBP for EIGHT audio awards, including Music of the Year, Sound Design of the Year, Best Interactive Score, Best Dialogue, Best Original Instrumental, Best Original Vocal - Choral, Best Use of Licensed Music and overall Audio of the Year. Phew…
Check out Develop for a list of all the other nominees.
The awards are taking place on the 26th March – but are there any other titles that you think deserve a prize for their audio?
Audio - KZ is taking a very strong stance for the joy of my ears!
Otherwise out of the 08/09 releases Mirrors Edge I think could be considered an unsugn hero - not least of all the theme song but the breathing of faith, sense of runing on multiple surfaces and the inevitable and excruciating “crunch” when you fall to your death - just imagingin my legs being snapped in two is pain enough.

“Burnout Paradise” made me realise that there was truth in the research that classic musical makes you drive move calmly… but “Carnival of the Animals” by Saint-Saëns being the stand-out composition, I think.
N.E.R.D’s “Rockstar” (Jason Nevins Mix) & Avril Lavigne’s “Girlfriend” are still fantastic tracks to drive to at high speed though
The background musak of “Midnight Club: Los Angeles”, although good in itself, doesn’t come anywhere close to the selection & diversity of the “Burnout Paradise” soundtrack.
