I could have done so much better, sorry for sounding like a big head. It’s a mess, showing the PS3 and game at the end was good tho.

In-game graphics, notice pointing out as such, Visari speech, attractive chaotic clips, stirring music that isn’t ripped movie cheese. It’s what everyone was asking for.

SWEEET!Sony I love you! -5 days

It’s not bad. It’s not great either. Certainly no Mad World or Rendezvous or How It Will End, but it has a nice mood to it. It’s just a bit too typical for game trailers for its own good - considering this will air on TV.
Comment by Tom — Feb 20, 2009 @ 5:56 pm
Very Cinematic, brilliantly done. I’m definitely getting this game day 1!
Comment by Madman08 — Feb 20, 2009 @ 6:27 pm
The ‘Actual Gameplay Footage’ footage is the best part, plus the “Their home, your Hell” bit is nice. Sony, air both this UK and the US TV ad. and that’ll be the one two punch the masses need to go out and buy a PS3.

reminds me of the videos you watch @ alton towers waiting for the roller coasters. it makes you think its gunna be great i LOVE the ad. its what we were asking for just a shame iv not seen it on ANY UK tv channel
Comment by ro11z — Feb 20, 2009 @ 8:17 pm
Cool. I hope they have got some airtime on SKYHD in the UK.
You do all realise its nearly time

I hope the final image of the console & Blu-ray disc stays on the screen longer than depicted in the embedded video above, but the Xbox 360 fan-crowd are going to pick-up on the truncated line “…your hell, only on PlayStation 3″.

I like it. I think it will work. Forget about the 360 fanboys and they will not buy the system or the game. True gamers who care about games will see the advert I think will buy the game. My only criticism would be these adverts should have started running, a minimum of 2 weeks before launch.
As mentioned, if you can throw in the American version as well, then even more people will start taking notice.
Comment by CartBlanche — Feb 20, 2009 @ 11:44 pm
Decent, yes, it has the right ingredients… but too much arty-farty spinning around (takes up too much time) and not enough first-person action
Whether people like the game or not, it’s a great advert to the general public demonstrating what the PS3 can do.

Sony do good.
Comment by Terry G — Feb 21, 2009 @ 3:05 am
Why don’t they just show the “Ballet of Death” trailer, and show the reviews while the trailer plays?
Yeah, starting commercials the week the game releases…I’ve been seeing F.E.A.R 2 and Street Fighter IV commercials for weeks…Sony…fire your marketing department!!!
Comment by Solinox — Feb 21, 2009 @ 4:23 am
Hey what do you know they listened to my comments in the 10 second teaser article! Close up of Visari to start, edited version of his speech while showing slowed down gameplay footage, finished with a PS3 splash screen with an only on PS3 voice over.
This ad is almost exactly as how I described how I would do the ad! That’s uncanny! I should get a job in their marketing department!!!

Exactly…. agree entirely

Would NEVER have got that trailer aired on TV

I’ve just seen a televised “Killzone 2″ advertisement! The first I’ve seen from the new marketing campaign.
It lasted less than 10 seconds… if I hadn’t been looking at the screen I would have missed it (as they was no, or very little, sound), and it was screened at 1:14 AM on Sky channel “ITV 4 + 1″.
Money well spent there. Not.

Saw the teaser ad on Channel 4 on Friday night (well, the Sky+ did, I watched it yesterday). Looked good but I knew what it was, the missus was less impressed. Hope the full ads are more widespread this week…
Comment by Dan (PSN - Detale) — Feb 23, 2009 @ 12:39 pm
To be honest I think a simple 30 seconds of in-game footage before a film in the cinema will create a buzz for this game. Pretty good advert though!
Comment by Robin — Feb 23, 2009 @ 12:44 pm
It was good, but I think they need a Watershed version as well, so after 9pm, just after the ending of the trailer, you see some Helghast getting blown to smithereens.
I just felt the voice over at the ending was a bit poor though. Din’t feel it emphaside the game enough. The sales will tell all though for both game and PS3.
