The guys at GamersDigest have done an article based on what they think are the top five guns in Killzone 2. Useful info to have in advance of the inevitable multiplayer carnage that Friday night holds…
Check out the footage of their top five (spoilers kept to a minimum) – what do you reckon? Good selection?
I think that selection is exactly what I would have chosen… oh wait :p

The Electricity Gun is one of my favourites, but I tend to stick to my trusty M82. Looking through the sight makes things clearer to see.
Other than that, the Exo is the business!

@Blanche
I stick with the knife =)
After Redak i felt like a n00b not realising you could use guns on him!

I’ve heard that there’s a good juxtaposition between going around frying enemy skulls with that electricity gun, and the more serious tone of what is currently unfolding in the plot at the time..
Guess i’ll find out soon enough

I wasn’t a fan of the shotgun myself (apart from a certain part of the game that involves a spoiler so I won’t say which bit!), I tended to stick to the assault rifles. There’s one in particular (I forget it’s name now) but it had a really rapid rate of fire and a huge clip compared to the standard guns, that was probably my favourite (ammo was hard to find though).
The sniper rifle is useful at certain sections, and luckily when it is useful it tends to be laying around in a weapons rack somewhere near by. The motion sensitive shake to your aim works really well too (especially if you have a DS3 and need aim while things are blowing up around you).
The Flamethrower is useful for crowded areas and getting rid of a lot of enemies at once. I never really spent much time with the bolt gun, but the exploding bolts were cool.
Have to agree about the Electricity Gun though, amazing weapon with unlimited ammo, once I got hold of this one I didn’t let it go…
Also agree with JohnSketch about the knife, some reviews have criticised the implementation of the knife but I loved it! I’ve got all the knife related trophies and I found it far more useful than the pistol as a second weapon!
In general, all the weapons, particularly the specialist ones, are available at very specific points in the game and those areas suit those weapons. It’s normally a mistake to try and keep hold of the Rocket Launcher thinking it might be useful in the next area - that is a surefire way to find yourself out of ammo! More often than not if you need a specific weapon for an area that weapon will be available somewhere in that area.

i think the best online gun is the M4 revolver cuz its infinite ammo and its a two shot kill, short range or long range work great. and it definitely looks cool. it looks like the “Raging Bull .44 Magnum” check it out in google
