Can you carve with a saw?
Anyway, Konami has announced that popular film franchise SAW is being developed for its video game debut, which includes an appearance on the PS3. Konami, well-known for high achievements in the survival horror genre, hint that “SAW will invite players to engage in a horrific game inside the treacherous corridors of an abandoned insane asylum that has been transformed into a gauntlet of terrors by Jigsaw, SAW’s maniacal antagonist.” Three Speech actually rents some office space in the same asylum, so we often see Jigsaw in the canteen. He tends to keep to himself though.

Surely there’s potential for some sixaxis/bone cutting mini game?
SPOILER ALERT
Do I win if I just smack the bloke laying in the middle of the room?

It’s not over… the games have just begun…
depending if this one spoils the next installation in the series, imaginatively titled “Saw 6″, due out in October or not.
Don’t buy those DVD/Blu-ray boxed sets just yet.
I imagine that if Rockstar Games had trouble gaining certification through the various censorship boards for “Manhunt 2″ this will be just as controversial.
A pity the human subjects were not digitalised from motion capture, but the rest of the environments look authentic, and with Konami publishing the title it should be a worthwhile purchase.
BFN,

Would it be overly cynical of me to suggest this game will probably see more outraged press than the films ever did, or will?
Oh, that would never happen! I’m being silly.

Hey ThreeSpeech, 5 news posts today and counting! Glad to see you’re going out with a bang and not thinking “b*ll*cks to it, we’ll be dead in 4 days anyway”!
I never hold out much hope for any Film tie-in games, but I do like the SAW films so I’ll keep an eye open for this. Now that Resident Evil has gone all ‘Action Movie’ in style, there is a gap in the horror games market for a good old claustrophobic lights-out scarathon (think Resi 1’s mansion)! Although having said that SAW has been more about the gore than the scares.
I’ll be interested to see where they go with it, I would assume that puzzles and moral choices would feature quite heavily, but how will they get around the problem of it not having anyone to shoot at as SAW is about you vs JigSaw’s traps and not vs any tangible enemy as such? That could be quite difficult to pull off in a game… unless he creates an army of JigSaw puppets!

I wonder how this will play all i can imagine is the as most traps involve sitting in a chair with some sort of sharp object trying to kill you. i can only imagine it to have alot of mini games. still im looking forward to it.
