SOCOM Confrontation arrived this month and Three Speech has spent a little while getting to grips with it. The thing with SOCOM Confrontation is that it does a fantastic job of creating a tactical environment where players use their own strategic decisions to get ahead in the firefight. This is part of the reason that we have been relentlessly dying. However, it’s a learning process that leaves you feeling more and more empowered with each successfully executed kill.
SOCOM Confrontation is a [very] tactical third person shooter that is played exclusively online. SOCOM Confrontation’s focus on online team-based play with unforgiving penalties means that spending time with it can actually result in a much more engrossing and tense experience. Working as a team becomes essential, as if you don’t communicate and watch each others backs then you’re likely to fail or die within seconds.
From our experience with it we found that all of the teams we joined communicated consistently, and all had good quality headsets. This meant that the team chat channel was very much alive - until we accidentally rebounded a grenade off of a wall at point blank range and killed half our team. If you’re looking for a game to dedicate time to and perfect skills with, then it would be a good idea to give this a go. The game can be intimidating at first, but once the ice is broken by accidental friendly fire you’ll fit right in.
Get hold of a boxed copy in stores with an essential headset, or alternatively just download it from the PlayStation Network for half price!
